The Project: Street Kid - 24p DV feature film. Target audience: inner city, urban youth - adult Budget: $40,000. With Product Placement and Sponsorship our budget will continue to grow. Street Kid is the brainchild of producer/director A. Supreme Wilder. Street Kid will follow in the footsteps of Boys in the Hood, Juice, Fresh, Menace to Society and Straight out of Brooklyn, but with less violence. Supreme has drawn on his music production and artist development experiences to create a script in the same way rap artist write lyrics. The script is a collection of real stories from inner city youths that have been put together to create a story. The actors, cast, crew and acting coaches will work from a script that has plenty of room to improvise. We are encouraging our young actors to give input to the script and production process.We want Street Kid to have the looks, feel, sound and slang of the Inner City. We are scheduled to go into production in the summer 6/26 - 8/29. Production location will take place throughout the 5 boroughs. (Red Hook, Albany, Brownsville, Queensbridge, Harlem, Bedstuy. The cast will consist of 30-40 union/non union actors with more than half between the ages of 14-17. As we progress through the different stages of production, we will draw on our extensive contacts in the entertainment, music and film industry. Our intention is to shed light on some of the problems that plague the urban community. We want to expose the fears of our youth! Peer pressure, poverty, education, drugs, crime and sex. We believe that the line of communication between our youths and adults have been broken We hope that Street Kid will open the doors for communication between our youths and adults. Score, soundtrack, wardrobe, creativity, urban language, product placement sponsorship, and music video style editing, Street Kid will have the look and appeal that will grab and hold the attention of our targeted audience. Ultimately, we hope that Street Kid will enlighten and entertain. |
